Message from the school nurse
As a reminder, all medications (prescription or over-the counter) needed by a child at school must have a medication authorization form signed by a medical provider and parent/guardian. Items such as any lotions, lip gloss, vaseline, chapstick, etc. are considered over-the-counter medications, and must have a medical order. Basically, nothing can be applied to a child without this order. If you want your child to self-carry a medication (prescribed or over-the-counter), parents must have the medical provider also complete a self-carry authorization form. Both sides of the form must be completed. If this piece is not completed, the over-the counter medication will be kept in the health room. Please see the school nurse for proper paperwork and/or questions.
