Measures of Academic Progress (MAP)
- Required and issued by the State of North Carolina, common to all schools throughout the State.
- Administered three times a year: Fall (September), Winter (January), Spring (March).
- Test covers Operations and Algebraic Thinking, Numbers and Operations in Base Ten, Measurement and Data, Geometry.
- Does not correspond to CMS's quarterly plans.
- Individual test--each student uses their iPad with headphones.
- For Grade 1 students, questions are spoken; instructions may or may not be written. (The instructions will not be read in Grade 2.)
- Questions can be repeated when student clicks on button.
- Unlimited time frame; I write the time that your child spent taking the test on the printout.
- 40 questions approximately.
- Adaptive test: as students answer questions correctly, the questions increase in difficulty. As students answer incorrectly, the questions decrease in difficulty.
- Parents receive a printout showing the accumulated student scores, including results from Kindergarten.
